Used for over two thousand years, oregano essential oil is native to the Mediterranean region. It’s amazing healing benefits were first discovered in Greece, where it was used as a topical anti-bacterial for the skin and for wounds. Growing wild in high altitude mountainous areas, it got its name, ‘oregano,’ or ‘joy of the mountains.’
Oregano oil has a powerful, spicy, camphor-like aroma.
The oil is pale yellow in color and medium to watery in viscosity.
Use a few drops with water in your favorite oil burner/diffuser, and for general use for the home and body.
Blends well with herbaceous, wood and conifer oils such as rosemary oil, cypress oil, cedarwood oil, tea tree oil and eucalyptus oils, and florals such as lavender oil and chamomile oil.
