When you light a candle for the first time, it is very important to let it burn for at least 2-4 hours (depending on the diameter of your candle - about 1 hour per inch), or until the melted wax-pool reaches the edge of the container. Doing so will make your candle remember how “wide” to go the next time you burn it. This way, you will avoid burning down a “tunnel” on your candle and waste a lot of unused scented wax.
